The 14th Annual Pelee Island Regatta
will be held July 12th 2008.
The Race will have two starts, one from Cedar Island Yacht Club and one off of
Bar Point at the mouth of the Detroit River.
The races are open to all sailing yachts that meet the safety requirements for
sailing on Lake Erie. Each start will have a jog or cruising class for those who
wish to have a leisurely ride to the Island as well as a spinnaker class for
those who want to race.

The Bar Point start for Spinnaker is
at 10:00am
and the Jog or Cruising Class start is at
10:05am.
The Jog start from Cedar Island is at 11:40am
This is a fun race designed encourage sailors to participate in racing in a
stress free way. In other words, no protests, and courtesy is the key.
Power Yachts are welcome to fill out an entry, pay the fee, and cruise to the
Island but cannot participate in the sailboat race.
Applications will be available on the LMYC website under the
tab in May 2008
All paid entries, power and sail, are reserved a dock space at Scudder but at
your own expense.
In addition, each registered skipper, power & sail, will be presented with a
gift from Pusser’s Rum by attending the “Beach Party” at "The Anchor & Wheel
Inn”.
Islanders, vacationers, and any other landlubber that wishes to attend the party
at the "The Anchor & Wheel Inn”, WELCOME!
People wishing to reserve a room on the island should book early. The Anchor &
Wheel Inn is a bed & breakfast that offers rooms, as well as a beautiful

Dinner will be served at the Anchor & Wheel Inn at 7:00pm and is at your own
expense. Awards will be presented followed by a night of dancing to live music,
sharing of tall tales, all true of course, and wine tasting for the remainder of
the evening.
Transportation will be arranged for you but at your own expense to and from
Scudder Docks and The Anchor & Wheel Inn. You can also walk if you like. It will
take you about 20 minutes.
