The 2009 sailing season has begun. Its time to shed the winter blues and enjoy the warm summer breezes and the long daylight hours for evening sails. The first ECPHRF counter race, Shakedown Regatta, is scheduled for May 16th. Monday night JOG racing begins May 11th and Wednesday night PHRF racing quickly follows starting May 13th. Both series carry into the fall with a mid-summer break. The schedule is posted in the club house. Please complete the sailing entry forms and join in the fun. The BOOM Junior Sailing program is coming to L.M.Y.C. July 13-17 for youth ages 8 to 14. Please register your child or grand child or even a friend's child as soon as possible to guarantee a spot. Participants are limited to 16. There will be two Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) certified instructors. Equipment such as PDF's and various teaching aids are supplied by CYA. The cost is $250 per child.

Any boats participating in a LMYC regattas can now launch
their boat at our club. While there is no official charge for this service, a
small donation to offset the cost of maintaining the equipment would be
appreciated. Arrangements must be made in advance .Please contact the
Harbormaster
for more information. Boats will only be launched at the club the day before Shakedown, our Regatta in August
and our River Rat race in October for other clubs and hauled out the day after these races. Skippers must
make arrangements with our Harbour Master, Ralph Allen, at least three days in advance of these races.
It is a matter of safety for lift crews to launch and haul out boats on the day of an event.
